" I remember enjoying this series a bit more than I did her Dragonriders of Pern, maybe because it was something quite different and didn't feel as redundant and formulaic. " I was surprised at how much I still liked this book, having last read it when I was, like 12. I was thrilled with the sequal, but wanted even more. " A wonderful story! Well written, strong characters, an amazing world. He talked me into reading this book and it was actually pretty good. I'm trying to broaden my horizon when it comes to my book selections. I just loved this book in high school and still today. It doesn't deserve 4 stars for technical reasons, or philisophical, or artistic merit.
